“Handful of desperate criminals targeting easy pickings in Gosport.”
Over the last month police have seen an increase in reported theft from motor vehicles, theft of mopeds and theft of pedal cycles.
“In the ideal world we would all like to be able to leave our doors unlocked. Safe in the knowledge that all members of the community have respect for others property. Sadly this is not the case”
The message is simple “LOCK IT OR LOSE IT”
At this time unlocked vehicles are being entered and property removed. Laptops from the boots of cars. Sat Navs & loose change. Please do not be content with putting your valuable’s out of sight. Desperate people are good at locating your property.
Pedal cycles are being stolen. Make sure you have a quality lock. Pedal cycles should not be left unlocked in gardens.
Theft of mopeds: Where possible put your moped out of sight in a secure garage or shed. Use a heavy duty lock to thwart these thieves.
Further crime prevention advice can be found on Hampshire Constabulary website.
Finally report any suspicious activity at the time.

Finally if you know who is committing these crimes please call 101.
If crime in progress then 999.
